Re: FN-FORUM: Dreamweaver templates

Hi Colin
Dreamweaver templates allow you to create pages based on the template, then
when you update the template the pages are automatically updated.
the template file is basically a HTML file with a .dwt file extension
which is stored in a Templates folder in the root of the site structure.
The real difference is a bit of extra code to identify editable areas of the
page which can be edited on the individual pages (with Dreamweaver or
Contribute).
e.g. content
and a tag at the top of each page which links it back to the template.
Try looking at Macromedia's web site, you can probably download a 30 day
demo of Dreamweaver.

Subject: FN-FORUM: Dreamweaver templates
Hi Guys,
One of my clients has asked me to provide them with Dreamweaver
templates so that they can build and maintain their new site which I
am designing.
As I hand-code my HTML I don't actually use Dreamweaver so was
wondering if there were any special requirements for this? Or if I
should just provide a basic site structure in hand-coded HTML for
them to work with.
Any advice would be most welcome.
