Re: FN-FORUM: Digital Exchange service

Thanks Mike,

I'll have a look at those links...

Question about the resumable download issue you mentioned - could you access
FTP downloads through an HTML interface though - i.e. use the pretty looking
visual interface to merely triggar the FTP?... Or do you need dedicated FTP
software (rather than a multi-purpose web browser) in order to have this
"resumable" feature?

Many thanks for your help.

Rob

You might be interested in http://www.copperproject.com
A useful project and file management tool. There are also quite a few
open source applications that do similar such as phprojekt, which can
be test run at www.opensourcecms.org

The only thing about any system that relies on http based file
transfer is that if you're transferring very large files and the
transfer breaks you can't resume transfer as you can with ftp. It's
easy enough to setup an ftp server onsite if you have sufficient
bandwidth e.g sdsl /quad bonded adsl, and has the advantage that you
have direct access to the server for backup and file manipulation.
