RE: FN-FORUM: Odd installation Problem

date posted 27th September 2005 23:00

Depends on how far your getting? What sort of response are you getting from
the machine? For instance are you getting anything at all. I cant remember
from the original post if you put the old hard drive back if everything was
ok?

Are you using a win98 start up disk to reformat the hard drive?

Lots of factors to take into account... if you want to call me on 07881
805523 tomorrow ill be happy to run through some of the possible scenarios
with you and perhaps help you get somewhere a bit closer to installing win
xp on your machine.

Regards,

Darren

Machine isn't very old - 2 years maybe.

Do you think the battery might be causing problems ?

Try changing the motherboard battery. See if this helps you get a little
further.

Odd thing is it craps out before it even gets to any installation part.
Can't even get it to the point where you'd fdisk it.
