FN-FORUM: CSS Borders with images

I was looking at the CSS for a faded effect and stumpled on the CSS3
images for borders

8 images to make an image border! Has anyone tried this and made it work?

I am currently slcing an awkard design to fit in with an existing html
table strcuture and it's a pita to say the very least.
