FN-FORUM: Setting up SMS service

Hi

A client has asked about setting up an SMS service. So where you'd
send a code to an SMS number. This code would identify that the user
is interested in a specific service and so they would receive
information about this service. I'd imagine that the contents of the
reply message would be stored in a database so it can be easily
updated and have new records (codes & reply messages added).

Has anyone developed such a system. Obviously I want to find out the
cheapest way of doing this. I've gooogled but do not really know what
I looking for. Is it an SMS gateway I need and a company like this:

Looking at their price guide it is about 5p to send an SMS in the UK
which seems reasonable. Is this the kind of company I need or am I
looking in the wrong place.

Any advice is appreciated as I've never looked into SMS before.
