For some reason your e-mail client doesn't specify the character set of
the text, so anything slightly unusual gets garbled unless the recieving
end happens to have that character set as their default for when none is
specified by the sender.
Your message headers only have:
Content-Type: text/plain;
For future reference, what e-mail client are you saddled with?
