It wouldn't happen to be a Citroen would it?
My fathers car used to do that...and it was French....
Turned out to be a sensor of some kind. There are 2 on his, one was easy to
replace and the other was not so. Both have now been done and I think it
works fine. From what I remember his does not have a standard cable, but an
electrical wire.

Last night my speedo suddenly stopped working (needle didn't move and trip
reader and odometer didn't increment). I drove about another 10 miles to get
home. This morning when I took it to the garage, everything started to work
again after about 200 yards.
Any ideas what's wrong? The garage haven't even looked at it as far as I can
tell, they never phone when they say - don't care that I need to know
whether I'll get it back or not as I'll have to hire a car for tomorrow if
I don't. They've lost a customer.
