FN-FORUM: 'computer aided design' system
date posted 4th January 2006 15:46
hi,
a client (a national tiling company) is hoping to roll out a system to allow
sales staff to input customers room dimensions and then visually render tile
choices from their product range (floor and wall) in 3D. this would
primarily be on sales staff machines (not a web interface!)
the sort of thing that interior designers/kitchen companies use as part of
the customer design 'service':
sales guy: "...and this is what your choice would actually look like..."
customer: "wow, that's great!", as the computer renders a 3D view of their
bathroom and animates through.
does anyone know where to start here? i'd like to be able to recommend a
company (or product) that specialises in this type of thing as ease of use
and speed are paramount.
i know there are off-the-shelf packages that do this sort of this but it
would ideally need someone to help on the systems and training side to help
set this up.
please contact me offlist [EMAIL REMOVED] if you have any leads or
suggestions.
thanks
cat
