It made him at least $1m, how the hell can it be useless?

In this case, it's not the execution that's important but the brilliant
idea... And it's a brilliant idea because it's a one-off, so kudos to him
for not doing a million dollar homepage 2. It's the fact that it's whipped
up so much hype that makes it such a worthwhile investment for anyone who
took out a pixel-ad. It gets getting on for 3 million hits a week, that's
pretty damned good ad exposure.

I wish I'd thought of it!
