Not sure if this helps, but ... Last year Easyspace got bought out by
IoMart. During the changeover there was a period of time that the Easyspace
domain notification system went a bit screwy - we have a resellers account
with them and nearly missed a few domain renewals for our clients as a
result. I know they had a few gremlins with the system as they changed it
and upgraded it - we received a couple of emails to this effect.
At the end of August last year, all domains held by Easyspace were actually
switched over to Tucows in a mass migration. We still manage them through
Easyspace, but it's apparently Tucows under the covers. A couple of domains
owned by our clients but not registered through us strangely appeared in our
resellers account at the time. We don't have any control over them, but I'm
curious if other mistakes were made such as accidentally releasing your
client's domain?
If you can get the original invoice as per Jill's suggestion you might be
able to track it down. Good luck.
