I think it would be more unfair dismissal.
The very threat of it, or of appearing before a Tribunal may force them
the HR department into either a) acting more reasonably or b) a possible
`compromise agreement` on your contract termination where you agree to
not to sue them in exchange for payment (and/or a reference) and
agreeing to stay quiet about it.
This is what I managed to do when the firm I worked for was taken over
and I wasn't happy with the subsequent so called `re-organisation.`
I'd take legal advise asap, ideally from a solicitor. It's possible your
home contents insurance will cover legal/employment costs.
I recommend everyone have some kind of legal protection cover these
days, the way employers are going.
