I've just been re-reading "The Peter Principle"

You know, the book that says "In any hierarchical organisation, employees
tend to rise to their level of incompetence". It's so true - you can see
over-promoted people everywhere!

Interestingly it says that some people don't like this, and they tend to
leave the organisation and set up on their own. That's me!
