Actually, in my experience (and most designers I have spoken to on the
subject), the switch was due to InDesign being more user friendly,
having more useful options than Quark, and working more smoothly with
PShop & Illustrator. Compared to the products now InDesign 1 may have
been rubbish, but it was still better than Quark 5.
