But the 1600n is black/white only printer - the OP doesn't say whether
he needs colour printing, or just colour scanning?

First choice is Canon for me, although Canon have been a bit naughty
and changed the cartridge design so for the latest MP150, you can only
get original Canon ink at the mo - none of the big compatible makers
have it on their radar yet :(
