Norton AV is alright, but their "Internet Security" product is absolute
shite.
If you use a router-modem that should do most of your firewalling if you
have it set up properly, otherwise you can use Zonealarm for that and it
works pretty well (I haven't used it for a while but used to be good
when I did) aside from that if you use your common sense- use
Thunderbird instead of Outlook Express, don't use IE unless you
absolutely have to, don't open suspicious looking attachments whoever
sends them to you, don't download anything you don't trust - you can get
by with an AV application like AVG and the built-in windows security tools.
I've got by fine with that for years now, although I never use shareware
which may make things safer...
