Firstly, I never said I was on the side of the thieves. I create original
works, and I hate anyone who steals anything.
Secondly, I was pointing out that the courts may find other remedies apart
from siding with a whopping claim. UK patent office states:
"Courts may grant a range of remedies, such as injunctions (to stop the
other person making use of the material), damages for infringement, or
orders to deliver up infringing goods."

Thirdly, yes I KNOW you automatically get copyright, but as the patent
office says on the issue of marking your work as copyright, "this is not
essential in most countries, including the UK. ... However, marking in this
way may assist in infringement proceedings."
Fourthly, am I infringing the patent office website by quoting them? No,
because limited rights are granted to quote works for non-commercial uses
such as study, discussion, teaching, reporting etc.
