RE: FN-FORUM: OT: laptop keyboard errors

I'd say it's something shagged in the keyboard. I split a can of coke on
an advent laptop and you should have see the pretty colours that
appeared on screen...
Was fixed under warranty.
I'd keep it shut off and send it back to Dell for repair if I were you=20

Subject: FN-FORUM: OT: laptop keyboard errors
Hi all,
Recently I managed to spill some water over my laptop (dell precision
m70), I shut it down, wiped most of it up and got the hair dryer on it.
Unfortunately it's now exhibiting some odd behaviour:
1; I can no longer drag any files anywhere (ie in windows explorer,
outlook whatever).=20
2; photoshop refuses to open any documents (!) (as far as I know
everything else works fine).
3; ctrl + x refuses to work, yet ctrl + other keys seems to work fine.
Now this all seems a bit weird to me. If I hadn't know that a spillage
caused this behaviour I'd of said this was a software fault and
reinstalled windows (xp) and / or the offending apps. I'm wondering if
it's possible that a key is sticking, or something is misfiring on the
keyboard? Does anyone know of any software that will monitor keypresses
(all keys, ie. Tab, ctrl, function keys etc) and display them?
Anyone have any other ideas before I attempt to explain this to my
insurance people....
Thanks all,
Jules
