I don't know what your needs are, but in case anyone doesn't know, =
Microsoft
now offer a free to download, free to use, and free to redistribute
(registration required) version of SQL Server 2005 "Express".
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/editions/express/default.mspx
And in case anyone missed it, IBM will now offer an "Express" version of
DB2:

Looking to buy a copy of SQL Server 2000 Single Processor License and=20
Windows Server 2003 5 CAL. The price of these products has shot up over=20
the last year, which is strange as SQL server 2000 has been replaced by=20
2005. Thought this might bring the price down, but it is more than I=20
ever remember it being now (averaging around 4200.00 + VAT compared to=20
last years price of =A33200.00 + VAT)
