FN-FORUM: X-Window Messages
date posted 1st February 2006 14:39
I've just put in a bid for a client who needs as part of the system a
"console" which will be permanently running full-screen Firefox on a =
Linux/X
window system.
There's a number of fairly bizarre requirements, including remote =
control of
the browser window, and another X application that will be running on =
the
console.
I know about the basic "firefox -remote" commands, such as openURL() =
etc.
Can anyone give me a starter to other methods of remote control of an X
application, i.e. sending keystrokes to a specific X-window ID, resize,
raise, minimise etc?
Just looking for a few basic pointers to google.
Cheers,
James
