Apologies Terry, didn't mean to come across as flaming or criticising you.
PCB cleaners and carbon tetrachloride have "interesting" effects on
keyboards. I've seen lots destroyed with PCB cleaner. It strips PCB lacquer
(okay, not all PCB cleaners) and cause problems with the inductive system
(general term) used by modern keyboards. The nearest usable chemical is
ethyl alcohol but it's difficult to buy at chemists. Mildly soapy water does
the trick without any after effects. As for the hair dryer (must have tool
in workshops), one of the key (ugh!) mistakes people make is to leave
dampness on the board.
