RE: FN-FORUM: Wireless and Ebay

When it cuts out check that the top 2 lights on the NTL cable modem are
solid lit. If they are then it's not a problem with NTL, if they aren't then
give broadband support a call.
Try doing a hard reset on the router and then power it up and see if
anything changes.
Mark.

Subject: FN-FORUM: Wireless and Ebay
Hi all,
I've got a problem with my wireless network. It keeps cutting out!
It will work for a while then just cut out. Sometimes it will keep cutting,
out then coming back, then cutting out every 30 seconds or so. The strange
thing is that it's been working fine for 3 months and never cut out. But
I've only had problems in the last week or so.
I have a Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router. For most of the day
only 1 computer is connected, but in the evening there are usually 3. The
network is encrypted and should be completely secure.
My ISP is NTL and I have tried plugging the broadband straight into my
computer instead of using it through the router. That worked fine without
cutting out at all. When I reset the modem and plugged it back into the
router, the wireless worked for about a day and a half without cutting out,
but now it has started doing it again.
Could it be another network interfering with mine?
Is it likely to be NTL or the router?
Another point is that ever since we started using the wireless network, Ebay
has been running extremely slowly. To get into MyEbay, I have to refresh
about 5 times for it to load. It's a pain in the arse. If I connect straight
to the modem not using wireless, it runs fine.
Any help would be appreciated!
Ian
