Firmware is the software which makes the hardware work and enables you
to change settings. Linksys routers usually use web-based interfaces
which you can access using any browser at http://xxx.xxx.x.x (insert
IP address of router here). In the settings there's usually an
'upgrade firmware' page which will let you upload updated firmware
(downloaded from the support pages of the manufacterer's website).=20
And as suggested previously, save your settings to disk if possible.
