I jumped in the thread halfway through, and perhaps should have read the
original post. In answer to your question, have a look at the hints on
such HTML service sites such as Mailchimp.com and campaign monitor.
Mailchimp even has a PDF on HTML email 'Do's and Don'ts'
(http://www.mailchimp.com/showcase/)
