Kathy,

I've just checked this and Hotmail is still broken. If you send a "rich
text" (i.e. HTML) email from Hotmail (which you can only do from IE),
then it only sends an HTML attachment. There is no plain text version.

Of course, some email programs (for example, thunderbird) will take an
HTML-only email and try to convert it to a plain text version.
Personally I prefer mutt's behaviour which is to just display a "no text
attachment" message.
