Yeah, but then you find that Knoppix won't run the wireless network
card and the laptop hasn't got an Ethernet port and Ubuntu runs
the wireless card but doesn't seem to have "smbmount" available=20
and in any case then the Windows networking on the target laptop
has a hissy fit and then you reboot the target laptop to Ubuntu to
find that you need to install Samba and by the time you do that
it's 23:05 and you're hacked off.
I think maybe I should have stuck with plan A, taken the disk
out, mounted it in my workstation, recovered the data there,
and dealt with the rest of it later.
