RE: FN-FORUM: Mozilla IE default
date posted 20th March 2006 11:34
Hi all,
I started this thread ages ago and it all worked fine. However, I am now
trying to create a link to a site which requires a certificate.
I have created the bat file with a link opening the site in firefox, but is
there any way to make it automatically accept the certificate? It's on the
intranet so it isn't at all harmful.

Hi Ian,

Yes but not with a short-cut. Create a text file in Notepad, call it
"opensites.bat" and enter this into it:
start firefox www.yahoo.com
start iexplore www.yahoo.com
Save it to your Desktop. Double-click and voila - both IE and Firefox
will open at the same time and go to Yahoo.
If you want one icon per browser then just remove one of the start
lines. So you could have "openie.bat" and "openff.bat".
If you want you can save the bat file/s to say your C:\ drive, then
drag a short-cut to them onto your Desktop. Then you can rename the
short cut to something more friendly and also change the icon to
whatever you want.
Cheers,
Rich
