No I agree with you it would make a lot of sense to go with one or the
other. This is an existing site, in PHP, that requires some AJAX 'niceties'.
As ROR has a rapid development cycle it is more of an investigation whether
it would benefit to use ROR for the AJAX bits. We already AJAX with PHP
already so it may be better to keep it that way.

PAJAJ looks good but we are on PHP4 atm - it reuires PHP5.
