You just need the PAYG SIM card from your chosen operator, and swap it
with your current one. Most give these away free or for a nominal charge,
so you could get several and see which is best for where you are.

FWIW my mobile is PAYG on Orange, and I get reception here and in the
caravan near Swanage. The SIM includes GPRS, and they do a "unlimited web
access before midnight for £1" thing which is handy for working away from
home.
