Every piece of software I have installed on my 64bit machine has worked
with no problems whatsoever.

Maybe you need a friend that knows something about computers to look at
it for you?

As Vista isn't generally available yet, what version are you running?
It's not advisable to use it for anything other than testing at the moment.
