Anyone else had this conversation:
You: "Hello".
Them: "I'm from the bank / building society / utility company, is=20
that Mr. / Ms. $NAME?"
Y: "Yes"
T: "I'd like to ask some security questions to verify your identity.
What's your date of birth?"
Y: "Err, I'd like you to verify *your* identity."
T: "Eh?"
Y: "You've phoned me up. You know who I am. I don't know who you=20
are. How do I know you're who you say you are?"
T: "errrr...."
I compromised once by each of us giving one half of my DOB. Not=20
exactly fantastic security (and besides, I could tell that they were legi=
t)
but I think the point was made.
