Best option is to format your hard drive and use Linux or Mac OSX :)
I don't know if it is true today but Eset Nod used to be the best
anti-virus software you could get. But as far as I am aware with
Windows Spyware is more common than viruses and Norton is pretty poor
at Spyware.
As for a firewall, get a hardware router, wireless or otherwise
(Linksys is made by Cisco, its cheap and it runs Linux inside,
sweeeet!), they are now very cheap and will give you more protection
than any software firewall can.
