If you were running a decent OS / set of apps then you wouldn't need
to filter outgoing data.

My wife's PC runs XP, she uses Firefox and Thunderbird without
antivirus or antispyware, etc...
She uses a combination of Human Eyeball 1.0 and the mail virus
scanner running on one of my Linux boxes.
