Subject: FN-FORUM: Router
I need to buy a router to do the thing that routers do - ie route =
packets
between subnets. I don't want to buy a layer 3 switch and I don't want =
to
pay Cisco prices and I can't use a PC with 2 NICs as it has to fit in a
small space. Anyone got a product recommendation?
It must be able to work as a "real" router not a NAT gateway - ie must =
be
able to do full routing, without NAT, no DHCP, no DNS proxy, no time =
server
proxy, no SPI, no wireless - just two Ethernet ports with router between
them - static routing table OK, no need for OSPF or even RIP - ACLS and
filtering would be nice but not essential.
