Can't use eBay - has to come via customer's purchasing consortium (and be
new, under warranty etc), but I'll see if 3Com do any current models that
would do.

You can get cheap routers 3com from ebay - they are there all of time ,I

I need to buy a router to do the thing that routers do - ie route packets
between subnets. I don't want to buy a layer 3 switch and I don't want to
pay Cisco prices and I can't use a PC with 2 NICs as it has to fit in a
small space. Anyone got a product recommendation?
It must be able to work as a "real" router not a NAT gateway - ie must be
able to do full routing, without NAT, no DHCP, no DNS proxy, no time server
proxy, no SPI, no wireless - just two Ethernet ports with router between
them - static routing table OK, no need for OSPF or even RIP - ACLS and
filtering would be nice but not essential.
