RE: FN-FORUM: dB growth

In this instance Microsoft have a separate application table which uses a
GUID as a primary key and then adds that key along with the client id to any
relevant tables. I'm actually in the process of writing an overloaded
version of this system as I ACTUALLY need to share clients among the
applications as they sign up to have access to a group of websites!!

and how does the dB distinguish between clients in that instance? Is it a
new table or a field identifier or some sort?

It might also be worth adding, regardless of what you think of Microsoft,
the new membership services in asp.net 2 uses a SINGLE database for multiple
applications (read clients) and Microsoft aren't know for getting things
fundamentally wrong (with a few exceptions) and would have invested a lot of
time/expertise in this!
