RE: FN-FORUM: New Freelancer - Help or adviced required

Hi Mike,
best of luck , when it works freelancing is great ,=20
the best advice I can give is:
when you get someone to agree to a project - write a specification.
include :
what you will do.
what they will do.
when it will be ready ( always multiply your first answer by 2).
How much you will charge ( I tend to give a basic figure for the spec=20
+/- 10%, and update them everytime they want something else)
When you will charge ( deposit, delivery, agreed completion of basic =
spec,
extras)
try and get them to sign it , or at least agree by email - PRINT IT =
OUT!
and keep with original spec.

Hi carrie,
You scared me with the crazy lady rant for a second, but then I cottoned =
on
to what you were talking about and it's cool!
Thanks very much for the feedback and, in a great sense, very very =
helpful.
Could I ask a quick question...what format should a sign-off sheet look
like? How should I compose a contract? When should I charge, etc?
I'm so na=EFve and scared right now :o)
