They are also putting the value of a few moments of their time as much greater

To understand a top posted email, you need to scroll down, understand the context
and scroll back up. If the top post deals with several topics in the mail that it
is replying to you need to work out what refers to what.
I will tell top posters: you presumably want you email read & understood, so why
not make it easy for the reader ? Unfortunately most just don't understand the
concepts - they have never thought about it from the perspective of the recipient.
