RE: FN-FORUM: Project management apps
date posted 11th October 2006 15:27
Been asked fairly recently, try doing a search on the archives.
Best I can recommend and use myself are www.basecamphq.com (free for basic,
otherwise costs) and www.activeCollab.com (open source and continually
expanding in features).
I've personally reviewed and played with a lot of the other stuff out there,
and most are difficult to use, over complicated, look poo and have a steep
learning curve. The 2 above are straight forward, good looking apps that do
the job.
ActiveCollab doesn't have bug tracking "yet" and I'd have to check to see if
basecamp did bug reporting, but you could always tag on another service like
trak.
Peter.

Subject: FN-FORUM: Project management apps
Hi All
I need an online project management tool which will allow me to "manage"
the project, inc tasks, reports etc. It also needs a way for clients to
login and be able to post bugs/tweaks/change requests etc to their project
only and view progress on old ones and flag them, change their priority.
Basically, i need a way of stopping my clients from sending tweaks, bugs etc
in emails and instead post them to a management system.
I looked at netoffice but i cannot see how to get clients to post changes.
Thanks
p.s. it doesn't necessarily have to be free.
