RE: FN-FORUM: Query re. web hosting reselling

Oooh, good question.
Horrible answer: It depends on the site, work involved, etc. Are you just
supplying hosting, email or full web development, etc.
More helpful answer: It's easier to gauge time based on the size of a
project, so for instance, I'd normally allow for between 10% - 15% for
project management, which would involve doing the admin side of the website
- exchanging emails, setting up accounts, etc.
A recent website which was a fairly standard, lightweight, informative site
for a company probably involved half a day of setting up and emailing
details of the ftp, email, webmail services, etc. It was a CMS, so I also
produced 2 online demos to show them how to edit and maintain the site -
another day.

In the meantime - could I please ask you a question Peter? In terms of day
to day work, how much time is spent on sending out details, organising
accounts, etc? Is this largely done by the ISP on your behalf, or do you do
it for them? I only ask, as I am somewhat new to the reselling of host
space, and want to get a good a picture as possible in what is involved,
before I get involved...!
Thanks,
Alex.
