Hi Andy
Contribute is client side. Very simple for the client to use - you just set
it up in the first place with the FTP details and then the client browses
the site, finds the page they want to amend, makes changes locally on their
machine and then saves and puts live.
I have a few clients who are using Contribute - none of which are very IT
literate - and they don't have any problems.
I have only used it with static non data driven sites.
If your site is data driven then a simple CMS may be better.
Hope this helps.
