On the official Open 2007 blog
(http://www.carnoustiegolflinks.co.uk/blog/) I use audacity to capture
the sound and Levelator to normalise it.

Be aware though, that PC sound cards are optimised for sound output not
input. There will probably be too much "noise" to capture good sound
this way. You may need an external sound card to do a good job.
