Hi Bob,
i would imagine that becuase you're talking about a marketing company
they use powerpoint for presentations of work produced in other
programs, most likely from a MAc made in something like Adobe
Photoshop or Pagemaker...
Given my limited understanding of your situation: A better way might
be to distribute your presentations as pdfs, since alot of computers
have an acrobat reader, which will allow you to view your pages as a
full screen presentation, utilise automatic variable page scrolling
and even use the text "read out loud" functions and what's really good
is that even version 4 supports javascript.... so it a pretty good
alternative to powerpoint ...and they're alot less buggy to, file
sizes are generally smaller etc.
if i've been any help and if i can help further, elborate on what
features of powerpoint your client is havng trouble with and I may be
able to find specific fixes or make a bespoke solution for you
Another thought that might interest you is that you can have your
presentations web based and use a server side script to dynamically
create pdf versions for download and distribution. Templates for the
web will work perfectly well with acrobat and both enjoy a synergy
that powerpoint lacks
Kind regards
Sunny.
