FN-FORUM: Sending stuff to a mobile phone from a web page
date posted 1st November 2006 11:53
Hi all,
I've had an interesting request from a customer for something to go
on their website. They have a section showing contact details for key
staff and want to know whether it is possible for a user (this is an
intranet site) to send the contact details for a member of staff to a
mobile phone so that the phone can store those details in its address
book. I think they have in mind just basic contact information,
though if phones are capable of storing pictures and notes for
contacts that would be a big bonus.
It sounds like the sort of thing that is eminently doable, provided
that there are recognised formats for interchange of address book
information for mobiles.
Does anyone have any pointers to resources like interchange formats,
or even existing software that would do this?
Any guidance appreciated,
Ian.
