My guess, one of two things,
a) they put in 1 x 256mb stick + 1 x 128 mb stick instead of 2 x 256mb
or (more likely)
b) 128mb onboard shared graphics

Thanks, I think the client's accountant must have assumed I was VAT

Mark,
AFAIK you can't get this information, as the creation date/time isn't
an attribute that the Linux filesystem stores at all - unlike Windows.

Not really sure to be honest. If they advertise a PC as having 512MB
RAM and 128MB Graphics, technically they're correct - they just fail
to mention that the graphics is using shared RAM.

Actually ls -al will show you the last modified date/time, as far as I am
aware the file system does not store the creation date separately, it uses
the same node for creation/modified.

Don't disable right click; there's little quite as annoying and amateur.

Yes - I noticed that too - but he did not have an issue with that - in
windows, a box pops up saying do you want to save, email etc ... And he
wanted to get rid of it

The link you mentioned can be got around by selecting all and copying then
pasting into word.
Best thing to do is to put a ghosted message over the image, not too dark as
to hide the image but...
