FN-FORUM: ie7 - cached pages causing annoying problems
date posted 30th November 2006 15:39
In previous versions of IE it was a rule-of-thumb that if you were going to be developing sites, you turned the memory alocation settings down to 1mb and told it to get a new version of the page with every visit, bypassing any possible 'cached version' problems.
With IE7 that doesnt seem to work. Minimum memory alocation is now 8mb but that shouldnt matter if you tell it to get a new copy with every visit to the page should it? well... I just spent 20mins trying to figure out why something worked in FF and IE6 but not IE7, which turned out to be down to IE7 not getting the latest version on refresh. (have tested and even shift+refresh doesnt force it to redownload)
anyone else had problems like this?
