Re: FN-FORUM: Accounting software

As a total non-techie writer, I've found an Excel (or presumably another
spreadsheet app) book, with a sheet each for: Invoices sent out (which
has columns for ref number, client, amount, what for, when sent, when
paid, when banked); expenses (when, on what, category, amount); and
another one with a tally of income, outgoings, net profit after tax -
*very* rough, that one but enough to scare me into squirreling some cash
away for the taxman; has always satisfied me and the taxman. I
keep a track of hours/days in my diary and spend about half a day a
month keeping it up to date. I tried Quicken etc. but it was just overkill.
