As for indexing; I did read somewhere that Google takes a lot of interest
in the page title (the bit that shows in the top of the browser window).
Search engines often use this as the main text in output too. So, I guess
it can't hurt to get UK in the title. If it is community based, do you
mean community as in a village/town? If so, bung that in the title too.
Then make sure you manage to make the point it is UK based in the text on
the home page.
And if you can forgive me for asking the bleeding obvious - can you not
host it in the UK? Why is it hosted in the States? You may find
performance a bit better if it is hosted in the UK too, assuming visitors
will mainly be in the UK i.e. reduce possible latency issues.
That's the limit of my extensive SEO knowledge I'm afraid. Hope it helps.
