I think the problem this client has is the same one that a lot of people
have when complaining about how much footballers, actors, company =
directors
etc. have which is to mistake human beings for commodities and services =
for
products. I am not saying that there are not overpaid people in the
professions I mentioned, probably in most professions, the point is that
each industry will have a spectrum from top to bottom and the market =
decides
who deserves which rate. Not many people sympathise with the non-league
footballer on pin money, or the out of work actor with no money.
The truth is that there will always be web developers willing to work =
for =A35
per hour (yes I know it is below minimum wage) but the mistake they are
making is assuming that this somehow invalidates other developers =
charging
=A350 per hour.
Possibly it is a function of the business in which they operate but I am
feeling uncharitable so I will call it ignorance on their part.
