It depends if the claimant is, in this case, a "business" or an
individual. I would expect Northampton to have transferred it to the
usual court, so it may well be that the other party are just trying
their luck, in which case your friend should probably object.
Normally, if the claimant is a business (incl. self employed) then it
is transferred to the defendant's court (as in my case; what a pain
that was!), but if an individual is claiming against a business then
it goes to the claimant's court, IIRC.
