three suggestions.
If you use Photoshop, create a new layer on top of the water, fill it with
the gold colour you're looking for, in your layers roll-up you'll see a
dropdown for the layer...

Its my belief that you should never use a javascript back button,
purely because of your previous point, browsers already have that back
button and i REALLY hate it when javascript controls my browser...
